Ron Sullivan has more than 40 years of local government experience in Riverside County. Public servants throughout the region say he’s the most qualified person to continue serving local customers on the Eastern Municipal Water District Board of Directors.

"Director Ron Sullivan knows our community and has championed many needed upgrades here. I rely on his professional knowledge and expertise every day,” said Menifee Mayor Bill Zimmerman, who along with the entire Menifee City Council endorses Sullivan for re-election to the EMWD board. "Director Sullivan is a knowledgeable public servant who is focused on delivering reliable service to us all.”

Sullivan, a resident of the county for 46 years and of Menifee for the last 23 years, currently serves as President of the EMWD board. He previously served as a County Planning Commissioner, Riverside County Airport Commissioner, member of the Airport Land Use Commission, and as regional Director for a California State Senator for five years.

On the EMWD board, Sullivan represents Division 4 of a district that encompasses 540 square miles of service. He currently serves on the Engineering and Operations Committee and the Finance and Administration Committee.

“My commitment is to continue to provide water and sewer services at reasonable rates, increase our infrastructure for the future, and promise to make reasoned and sound policy decisions that serve the region,” Sullivan said.

Sullivan’s experience in leadership also includes the following:

-- Commissioner of the Santa Ana Watershed Project Authority, which owns and operates the Industrial Brine Line.

-- Riverside County Planning Commissioner representing Menifee/Sun City, Hemet/San Jacinto, Wine Country, and Anza/Idyllwild.

-- Planning Commissioner for the City of Hemet.

-- Small business owner of a Land Consulting and Development Business.

-- General Contractor for Residential and Commercial Development.

-- Program Manager for a large electronic firm.

Under Sullivan’s leadership, EMWD has secured over $155,176,003 in outside state and federal grant funds in the last four years and an additional $88,054,050 in low-interest loans to support EMWD’s infrastructure investments and reduce customers’ costs.

Sullivan also has provided leadership for EMWD in implanting the Quail Valley Sewer Infrastructure Program. EMWD has completed the first phase of a septic system to sanitary sewer conversion program in Quail Valley, converting over 150 dwellings from a failing septic system to EMWD’s municipal sewer collection system. EMWD secured $9 million in outside funding from multiple sources to reduce costs for customers. Initiated planning efforts for EMWD’s second phase of its Quail Valley Sewer Infrastructure Program to further extend sewers in the community.

"Director Ron Sullivan has continued to be a tremendous value to the residents of the City of Menifee while serving on the Board with EMWD,” said Matt Liesemeyer, mayor pro tem of Menifee. “Specifically, in Quail Valley, he’s led the charge in bringing much needed sewer to several hundred homes with badly failing septic systems. I look forward to an ongoing relationship with Director Sullivan as we partner to bring more infrastructure to this badly neglected area of the City. Please join me in supporting Ron Sullivan."

During this time, EMWD also secured $22.5 million in state grant funding and $6.2 million in federal funding from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to construct its third groundwater desalination treatment plant, the Perris II Desalter. The Perris II Desalter will produce an additional 5.4 million gallons per day of high quality, local reliable potable water to serve the local community.

A vote for Sullivan is a vote for continued leadership in quality water service to the Menifee community.
