Our readers had fun at the Menifee 24/7 booth at the city's birthday bash last fall. We'll be back with different activities and prizes on Saturday at Wheatfield Park.
Don't forget Menifee's Independence Day parade on La Piedra Road and celebration in Wheatfield Park Saturday starting at 5 p.m. Menifee 24/7 will be there, giving away prizes. Look for the big black canopy with our logo on it!

We also have a special request for Facebook friends and fans of our unofficial mascot, Menifee Max. For those of you who aren't faithful Menifee Max followers on Facebook, he's our cowboy friend who shows up once a day to conduct a random drawing for a prize. Since his arrival in March, Menifee Max has given away more than 100 prizes, generously donated by our advertisers.

Despite what you might think of him, Max is a rather shy old boy. So far, we have not convinced him to come out of his Facebook hiding place to meet the public. But we're hoping that beginning Saturday, you can help us.

At the Menifee 24/7 booth, we'll have a giant greeting card for Max's friends to sign. You may write him a message, draw a picture for him ... whatever you feel will get his attention. Then we'll take it back to his "hideout" and see if we can get him to come out in person at one of the next public events.

Everyone who signs the greeting card can also add their name to the list for a special drawing by Menifee Max. Then Monday on Facebook, Max will have an extra announcement in addition to his usual daily drawing. He will draw a name from all those on the list and will announce the winner of a special prize.

See you on Saturday. And don't forget to give Menifee Max a special greeting the next time you run into him on Facebook!
