About 40 acts took to the stage Saturday to audition for Menifee's Got Talent, the April 11 showcase sponsored by Arts Council Menifee.
Singers, musical performers and dancers performed for judges and organizers of the event at Kay Ceniceros Senior Center. About half of those will be selected to perform in the talent show, which this year will be held in the spacious theater at Heritage High School.
According to Peter Thorwarth of Arts Council Menifee, the event will not be a contest so much as a talent showcase of the best non-professional talent in Menifee. Professionals who were paid to perform four or more times in 2013 are not eligible for the event, but if they email the organizers, they could be included in the announcements.
