Single-Vehicle Accident, Fire Closes Part of I-215

Story updated at 11:45 p.m.:

The California Highway Patrol closed southbound Interstate 215 at D Street in Perris tonight after a single-car collision that injured four people and trapped one inside.

According to Riverside County Fire Officials, one person was extricated from the vehicle, which caught fire after colliding with the K-rail. Three people were transported by ambulance with moderate injuries.

Northbound lanes remained open to traffic. Southbound lanes were re-opened about 9 p.m., according to CalTrans.
