Fun, Games Planned for Little League Opening Day Saturday

Hundreds of young ballplayers will take to the field and many special activities are planned for this Saturday, March 2, when the Menifee Valley Little League opens its 2013 season at Wheatfield Park.

Opening Day will feature a parade of teams at 9 a.m., opening ceremonies, vendors, food, bounce houses and rides on a tethered hot air balloon, sponsored by Re/MAX and the Team Dad and Daughters property management group. Balloon rides will begin at 8 a.m.

Wrist bands for the bounce houses will be $10 for the day. Hot air balloon rides are $3 for one ride and $5 for two. There will also be a basket raffle.

Baseball action will begin at 10:30 a.m. with a game between the Angels and Storm in the Challenger division. Games will continue on several fields throughout the day.
