Sunbelt League football champion Heritage High School was seeded second in the CIF Southern Section Central Division playoff bracket and will play at home against Palm Desert Friday at 7:30 p.m.
The CIF-SS office announced Sunday that the Patriots (9-1) earned the right to host Palm Desert (3-7), the No. 3 team from the Desert Valley League. Heritage closed out the regular season Friday night with a 37-20 victory over Elsinore.
Paloma Valley, which finished 7-3 overall but fourth in the Sunbelt League standings, made the playoffs as an at-large team and will play at top-seeded Summit (9-1), the Sunkist League champion, in Fontana. The Wildcats nailed down a postseason berth with an impressive 56-7 rout of Lakeside on Friday night.
