  • Now that it looks like voting by district is the choice, can someone please explain how it will work, specific to the Menifee City Council. It looks like the persons with the 4th and 5th most votes will be up for re-election in 2 years. Will I be able to vote? Who determines what the district lines are? What districts will be voting in 2 years and in 4 years? I didn’t hear one explanation prior to the election about how voting by district was going to work. I find it puzzling that it passed without people knowing how it was going to work.

Please, someone inform me. I assume our council-elect will know maybe one of them can write in.

  • Here is what I understand how the district voting will work. First, the county has to do a census, and that is not slated to happen until 2010, so the next election will not matter. Everyone will get to vote and voting will be for 3 spots, 3rd, 4th, and 5th. The district lines will be set up, hopefully, in time for the 4 year election. I too find it puzzling how that passed, when there are more people that I talk to who don't understand it than those that do.

  • Does anyone know how the three write in candidates did? I looked on the county election results but can't seem to find the information.

  • Someone needs to tell Jerry Stamper to take down ALL of his campaign signs that are all over this area. He should no better, especially in the Menifee Lakes area where he is the President of the Menifee Lakes Master Assoc. Shame, shame Jerry, clean up your mess!!

  • Not to mention Darci Keunzi. She could probably dig up $50 from the tons of money she raised to hire someone to take her signs down - you'd think.
