  1. I am glad your son is having some success with that league, JAAF. I am a family with three kids playing Menifee Pop Warner and must also say what a success it has been and how refreshing it is to be apart of a league that really cares about kids in this community. I was apart of JAAF for two years and have heard about all the rumors about Menifee Pop Warner starting up and know first hand that those rumors are not true! I feel sorry for alot of those RUMOR starters that are still in that JAAF league. I have gotten to see first hand how Menifee Pop Warner is being ran and I will say that their President & the Board has been nothing but classy and really cares about the kids in our community. My husband and I have been stopped at local stores and been harrassed by current JAAF Board members and parents about playing in Pop Warner and wearing Menifee Pop Warner Predators apparel. I am going to get involved on the board as a volunteer with Menifee Pop Warner and the next time someone SLANDERS the President and Board of this league My husband and I are going to take action. I also wanted to mention what great coaching they have assembled to teach our kids the game of football and cheerleading. It's not always about just winning, it is about learning the game and being ready to play at the high school level. All I hear about is how they have to win and what message does this send to our children, our future!
With all the new gear, and I mean brand new gear and not that old crappy stuff, JAAF made my kids play in, not safe, Menifee Pop Warner is safe and no drama and best of all being led by a president and board that really cares about our community!

  2. And we all know it is better to look good with new uniforms and equipment and lose, than to feel good, learning self discipline, sportmanship and winning. Actually any youth football is no youth football. I just prefer "JAAF" over "POP it's another fundraiser Warner".

  3. In all youth sports you have to fundraise to keep a league going. Look at all the fundraising that JAAF is doing...my friend's son is playing in jaaf and they are doing poker parties with drinking achohol...illegal! Scratch tickets for the kids and always trying to raise money...where is it going...at least we know where the money in POP WARNER is going, they show us the books. We never saw them when we played JAAF, and I hear they still have not. Look as long as the kids are playing something it keeps them busy, does it matter which league? The difference is the people in Pop Warner don't bad mouth jaaf, oh by the way where is the corporate office of jaaf.....no-one knows at least we know how to and where Pop Warner corporate office is...peace of mind for my family and this community!

  4. My post was a proud parent talking about her son. Not how the 2 football leagues don't get along. I already went through all that when pony baseball started.
Every not for profit organization is open to the public to look at their books, all you have to do is ask.
If you are involved in youth sports, you know that there is politics that go with it.
I encourage everyone to join a local youth sports Board of Directors.
When you do so, then you can leave informed comments.

  5. Maybe the Menifee Lakes Woman’s club could run a snack bar for the football leagues and never have that open either?!

  6. This is insane. How does a comment about a child's success and his teams accomplishments turn into JAAF vs Pop Warner. Both organization are Non-Profit and open to the public. Sure some people may have had a better experience with one organization vs. another but that's all it is. Clearly this Blog has turned into a parent\organization issue and the kids experience has been forgotten. When did we all forget what a our parents told us: If you don't have anything good to say don't say it. Holly - I hope your son makes it to the superbowl. Good luck.

  8. If you want to enjoy some great youth football in the next coming weeks be sure and come down to Paloma High School on Sat. 11/18, Sat 11/25, Sun 11/26 or Sat. Dec.2. Menifee is hosting JAAF playoffs. Sundays games will be the super bowl for the micro division 3 where we hope to have our own team playing for the championship. Go Wildcats and good luck.

  9. Don't you have another son, and isn't his team going to the Super Bowl?

  10. Hi everyone, just to follow up on what Doug mentioned about hoping to have some of our own Menifee teams in the Super Bowl, GREAT NEWS! The Div. 3 Micro team beat Big Bear 26-6 yesterday in the Semi-finals. They boys played really hard and earned a solid win. The Jr. Peewee Menifee team also won on Saturday to advance to the Div. 3 Jr. Peewee Super Bowl! All the players are very excited to play in the Super Bowl especially on our home field, Paloma Valley HS. I am sure the teams would be grateful for any local support and cheering we can get on Sunday, 11/26. The Micro team plays at 11:00am and the Jr. Peewee team plays after them at 1:00. Hope to see you there. Dave Fokken, one of the Micro Div. 3 coaches.

  11. Just to update everyone who is following Menifee JAAF, the Micro Division team are SUPER BOWL CHAMPIONS winning a squeeker 7-6 over Perris. The Jr. Pee Wee team didn't fair quite as well falling to Corana's Black team 26-28. Both of these games couldn't have been more exciting to watch. Great plays on both the offense and defense sides made these games fantastic to watch. We couldn't be more proud of the boys. See you at the banquet.
