Menifee PD welcomes eight new officers, staff members

News release from the Menifee Police Department:

MENIFEE -- The Menifee Police Department welcomes new officers and professional staff to our growing department. The new staff joined us over the last several weeks and are a great addition to the exemplary team serving your community.

Officer Trong Dinh began his law enforcement career two years ago with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. Prior to his career in Law Enforcement, he served eight years in the United States Marine Corps as a Joint Terminal Attack Controller. Officer Dinh completed three combat tours to Afghanistan and Iraq in support of Operation Inherent Resolve (OIR), Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF) and Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF).

Officer John Santiago attended the Chabot Community College in Hayward, where he studied Criminal Justice. He began his law enforcement career three years ago with the Oakland Police Department and was assigned to the patrol division. Officer Santiago is fluent in Tagalog and Kapampangan. He enjoys participating in community events and coaching youth sports.

Officer Andrew Aivazian began his law enforcement career four years ago with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, where he served in both the detention and patrol divisions. Prior to his career in Law Enforcement, he served three years in the United States Marine Corps.

Crime Scene Investigator/Property and Evidence Technician Raquel Castro started her law enforcement career with the Hemet Police Department 20 years ago and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology. During her tenure, she managed the property room, processed crimes scenes, assisted in high profile investigations, and assured procedural compliance. CSI Castro received multiple awards for work, which has led to the apprehension of criminal suspects.

Officer Luis Isarraraz began his career in law enforcement career in 2007 with the Bell Gardens Police Department. During his career, he has received awards from MADD and for his work recovering stolen vehicles. Officer Isarraraz comes to us with experience as a K-9 handler, tactical team member, FTO, Senior Officer and certified instructor.

Officer Juan Sanchez began his law enforcement career in 2009 as a Communications Officer and Reserve Peace Officer with the Maricopa Police Department. Officer Sanchez transferred to the Huron Police Department and comes to us with experience in patrol, background investigations, and internal affairs investigations.

Officer Chris Carmona began his law enforcement career seven years ago with the City of Riverside. Officer Carmona brings experience as an instructor, tactical operator, patrol officer, and as a SWAT-Sniper operator assigned to the US Marshal Fugitive Task Force – Pacific Southwest Division. Additionally, he has been an instructor for both the US State Departments Anti-Terrorism Assistance and worldwide protective services programs since 2006.

Community Services Officer Megan Borunda began her career five years ago with the San Diego State University Police Department as a Community Services Officer and Communications Officer.
