The Santa Rosa Academy girls soccer team gained a 2-1 victory against the Wilson Wildcats on Thursday afternoon in the first round of the CIF playoffs. This win brings the team’s record to 16-1-2.

Team captain Marie Marlow scored the first goal on a penalty kick. Later in the game, she scored another goal on an excellent passing combination between the players.

"I think our season has been one of the best seasons we've had in the past three years," Marlow said. "I truly believe that if we keep playing this way, we will go very far in CIF."

The Rangers will be advancing to the next round of the Div. 6 playoffs, playing at Pomona Catholic High School on Tuesday.
