Menifee 24/7 is pleased to honor outstanding athletes at area high schools. Each coach of a sport in season is allowed to select one athlete per week as Athlete of the Week. Here are this week's honorees from Paloma Valley High School:

Megan Dallin is part of the Wildcats' No. 1 doubles team for the girls tennis team, and she played like it last week, said her coach, David McCoy.

"Megan is great at the net and is a master at the volley," McCoy said. "She really finishes points well. She had some big points against Elsinore and Lakeside last week. She is a great asset to Paloma and is rightfully so one of our captains."

The boys cross country team honoree is Alex Douesnard. The senior placed 19th at the Sunny Hills Invitational, improving his 3-mile time by 35 seconds, running 16:17. His strong finish helped the senior boys finish third out of 36 teams that day.

The girls volleyball Athlete of the Week is Elyse Roe. The senior is in her second year on the varsity team. She had 14 kills, 2 aces, and 26 digs in a match against Elsinore last Friday.

Coaches of varsity sports are invited to select one athlete per week and email the information to doug.spoon@gmail.com.
