Heritage High Athletes of the Week: April 13

Each week, Menifee 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Heritage High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select athletes based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's Athletes of the Week:

Baseball player Trevor Salas went 9 for 14 for a .643 batting average in the recent Beaumont Tournament.

James Phillips of the boys track team took fifth place in the 200 meters at the Mt. Carmel Invitational. Then he took first place in the 100 and 200 at the MLK meet. He also ran the anchor leg of the Patriots' 4x100 relay team, which finished second at MLK.

Andres Henry took first place in the shot put with a mark of 49-.05 and first place in the discus at 150-3 in a meet against Perris.

Kaleigh Giannone of the girls track team took third place in the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles at the MLK meet. She also ran the second leg of the Patriots' 4x100 relay team, which placed third.

Susan Peralta
took first place in the long jump against Perris with a mark of 14-11 and third place in the high jump at 4-2.

Sophomore tennis player Angel Perez is the only non-senior in the varsity lineup. He was 11-1 in singles competition in his first two weeks of league play.

The tennis doubles team of Tyler Baca and Logan Dreese was undefeated in the first two weeks of Sunbelt League competition. They have a team-leading 28-6 overall record .
