The Riverside County Coroner's Office has released the identity of a man who died shortly after being found lying in a road in Menifee Sunday night.

Moses Almarez, 43, of Menifee was found by firefighters answering the call of a man down in the 27000 block of Washington Avenue in the Romoland community of Menifee about 6:56 p.m. on Sunday. Almarez was suffering from life-threatening injuries and later died, according to a Sheriff's Department report.

The case is being investigated as a homicide. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call Investigator Posson of the Sheriff's Central Homicide Unit at 951-955-2777 or Investigator Barajas of the Menifee Police Department at 951-210-1000.
