Officers from the Menifee Police Department have a presence on the campuses of Menifee Valley Middle School and Paloma Valley High School today as a precaution following the discovery of suspicious comments on the Internet.

The alleged threats between students at the two schools were found not to be credible and there is no threat of danger at the schools, said Betti Cadmus, public information officer for the Menifee Union School District. School officials contacted the police department, which has increased presence on the campuses only as a precaution, she said.

Parents of students at the schools were notified of the situation via voice mail and email this morning.
