Local Artists' Work, Performances Displayed at ACM Showcase

Menifee residents perform a Radio Theater production of "A Sherlock Holmes Mystery."
Hundreds of area residents enjoyed the talents of local performers and browsed through displays of arts and crafts Saturday in the fourth annual Arts Showcase, sponsored by Arts Council Menifee.

In addition to the items on display and for sale in front of shops in the northwest corner of Countryside Marketplace, nearly 25 acts entertained patrons on three stages between Chipotle and The Beer Hunter.

In what event organizers called the biggest group of performers and artist displays yet, the Showcase included the JR Reed hot rock band, Paloma Valley High School band, Heritage High and Paloma Valley High dancers, the "Timeless" oldies jazz band and country/modern singer Kelly Mullins.

Also performing were Broadway musical singer Mickie Grunwald, electric bass guitar player Gavin Carney, magician Mr. Porkie (Andrew Remnet) and tap dancer Kylie Coppola (left), among others.

Various forms of woodwork, painting, jewelry, photography and other crafts were on display.

Children in attendance enjoyed face painting and drawing artwork.

Board members of Arts Council Menifee were on hand to answer questions.
