Suspect Wounded in Officer-Involved Shooting in Perris

One suspect was shot and another was taken into custody this morning in an officer-involved shooting in Perris, police said.

Roverside County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of suspicious persons in the 700 block of Penasco Grande Street at 7:12 a.m. today. According to Deputy Julio Oseguera, deputies encountered two individuals and an officer-involved shooting occurred. The deputies were not injured but one suspect was hit by gunfire and transported to a local hospital with non-fatal injuries.

No other suspects remain at large, Oseguera said.
