It might be a cold, wet night out there, but that won't stop the CIF-SS football playoffs from moving into the quarterfinals tonight, with both Menifee high schools still alive in the Central Division.

Paloma Valley (10-1) will be at home tonight at 7 for a game against Kaiser, which defeated Canyon Springs 49-0 in the opening round last Friday. The Cats, champions of the Sunkist League, are 9-2 this season.

Kaiser's offense is led by sophomore running back Joshua Johnson, who has rushed for 1,118 yards and 10 touchdowns. Cats quarterback Raymond Padilla has passed for 473 yards and 5 TDs.

Meanwhile, Sunbelt League champion Heritage (10-1) will be on the road tonight for a 7 p.m. game at La Quinta. The Blackhawks are 8-3 after beating Chaffey 35-6 in the first round.

The La Quinta offense is led by running back Vincent Guzman, who has rushed for 1,769 yards and 18 touchdowns.
