By a unanimous vote, the Menifee City Council Tuesday night voted to switch the schedule of its regular meetings to the first and third Wednesday of the month, effective Wednesday, Aug. 21.
Since the city's incorporation in 2008, the city council has held its regular meetings on Tuesday nights. According to interim city manager Rob Johnson, the change was suggested because many Monday holidays have created short work weeks for city officials to prepare for council meetings. This will give them an extra day from the time the agenda is prepared the previous Friday until the Wednesday night council meetings.
Because of previous public announcements of public hearings, the next city council meeting will remain on a Tuesday, Aug. 6. Beginning with the following meeting on Aug. 21, meetings will be held on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. at Menifee City Hall, 29714 Haun Road.
