  1. Excellent work. I'd love for them to do this EVERY week.

  2. It is an unconstitutional stop, search and seizure as taught in 8th grade US History. Society has again violated the rights of over 400 people for the safety of whom? If the law is not enforceable without resorting to unconstitutional powers, then maybe there really isn't a danger.

If you are going to ignore the constitution to keep people safe then why not just outlaw ALCOHOL in the city limits and close all the liquor stores and bars. You have that authority right?

    1. It's not unconstitutional for the police to use checkpoints. The US Supreme Court has already decided this fact. You need to do your homework before you jump on the bandwagon of ignorance.

    2. Actually their ruling CONFIRMED that it was unconstitutional, but did not overrule the state's desire to do so as it seemed a "minor" infringement.

How many "minor" infringements does it take to be intrusive? What are we at now, monthly check points? As long as the state keeps sending us money...let's just do it. Did the other 300+ drivers who were law abiding citizens allowed a choice?

If you were serious about getting drunk drivers and CRIMINALS off the street, then isn't it more expedient to just BAN alcohol? Counties are free to do that too.

    3. Nah,tried that once it didn't work. The drunks would just head to Temecula and spend their money there.

"Society has again violated the rights of over 400 people for the safety of whom?" How about the overall safety of the law abiding citizens of Menifee! Getting drunks drivers and criminals off the streets is great!

    1. Between the hours of 7pm - 3am? I'm usually home and would prefer they patrolled for parked car break ins.

  4. I don't know about you(AskMieke)but I drive with a valid drivers lic., keep my insurance up to date (if for no other reason, to cover myself for the people who don't have insurance.), no arrest warrants and have nothing to hide if I do get stopped. In my opinion I assume most of the people in this city would be happy to see these people off the road for DUI, being unlicensed, uninsured, arrest warrants and in general taking advantage of the system. Maybe I'm just getting old and care more about safety than being politically correct.

  5. You can paint this any way that makes you feel better but these are straight money grabs and overtime justifications. More DUI stops are made during routine operations but the real money is made on everything else. This is also a very clear abuse of power and we need to stop rolling over to the system.
