Two years ago, when David Patterson moved onto his rural property on a dirt stretch of Bradley Road north of Scott Road, this windmill was nothing more than an ornament.

"Thanks to the Internet, and some very helpful folks dedicated to preserving the American heritage, this 10-foot Aeromotor windmill keeps a 5,000-gallon water tank full all the time," Patterson explained. "I often find myself sitting and watching this simple thing work."
