The staff of Menifee 24/7 is seeking input from readers in preparation for its candidates forum, scheduled for Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium at Paloma Valley High School.

Candidates for mayoral and city council positions in Menifee will be present to give opening and closing statements and answer questions from a moderator. Many of these questions will be selected from submissions from the public.

Residents are urged to attend this free event Wednesday night. They will not be allowed to ask questions of the candidates at the forum, however. Even so, you have a chance to pose your questions in advance by submitting them via email to doug@cleardigitalmedia.com for consideration.

We hope to see you at this important event on Wednesday.

Since some of the candidates are also School Board Council Members, I would like to know how they justify making the cuts to busing, personnel, etc within the school district, but approved a pay raise for the board.

    1. Hello Jennifer,

This is Scott Mann. As I am the only candidate that is actually on the school board, I'll answer that question for you right now.

The school board does not get "raises". They get a flat $250 per month stipend for serving on a board with fiscal responsibility for a budget over $67 million.

I have answered many questions for you on Facebook related to these school district cuts. However, if you have additional questions, please feel free to call me. You already have my telephone number as well as being Facebook friends.

      Sincerely,

      Scott Mann

  2. Mr. Mann
Your answer is not clear to me. Are you saying there was no increase in the amount of the stipend or an increase in the stipend is not considered a "raise"?

      Thanks,
