Thomas Fuhrman & John Denver Are Sworn Into Office

At the city council meeting this evening, incumbent John Denver, and newly elected Thomas Fuhrman were sworn in as city councilmembers.

John Denver was reelected to a four year term in the 4th District beating out Carol Sullivan and Anne Pica by a final vote of 2,077 to 1,163 to 1,111 respectively.

Thomas Fuhrman replaced Scott Mann representing the 2nd District, also to a four year term, beating out Mann by a final vote of final vote of 1,642 to 1,044.

After taking their seats, both Fuhrman and Denver had little to say, other than to give thanks to the voters, and that they were ready to serve.

Towards the end of the meeting, during councilmember comments, Fuhrman suggested the council appoint Mann as chair of the Veterans Committee. Mann had already left the meeting by that time. Darcy Kuenzi noted that because its an ad hoc committee, that there may be difficulty appointing a non-councilmember to that committee.
