Menifee City Council Candidate Map

by Steve
5/29/2008 03:20:00 PM

I managed to place 21 of the 22 city council candidates on a map of Menifee Valley, showing from what neighborhoods they hail from, in case this information means something to you...

Menifee City Council Candidate Map
Click the map to see a larger size.

I don't have Dina Biedermann on this map; I e-mailed her and haven't heard back yet. I didn't want to wait too long.

This information comes from the Registrar of Voters, and then cross referenced on Google Maps.

  • WOW! Now the Thomas, Twyman, Miller and Edgerton signs make PERFECT sense to me! Sorry guys...you've been out'ed (sp?)! How naive of me...I did not know that there was this 'South Menifee Alliance'.

I am not voting for any of you four! Sorry Wally but, I have changed my mind.

24/7...Thanks for posting this info. It was a good idea!

  • Those four have their neighborhood covered. What about the rest of us?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at May 29, 2008 7:50 PM

  • For the first comment.... you left off one candidate....It is Thomas, Twyman, Miller, Edgerton and Mazei. They have joined together as a group "who have not taken any developer money" for their campaign. I find that refreshing when others have spent up to $30k on their campaigns! So yes, I have seen a divide.... I guess there are the pro-developer candidates and anti-developer candidates. I don't think it has anything to do with location as it does with what they stand for. FYI Mazei is up top on the map.

  • This is ludicrous. We're not going to have four council members south of Scott Road (or along Scott Road).

    Not gonna happen!

  • To anonymous May 29, 2008 9:41 PM:
What area of the City do you think is going to be the priority one, two, three… on their list? Every time they talk it is about zoning around their homes. They bought in that area because of the one acre lots and they don’t want development near them. It is always about their neighborhood. What about the rest of the City. We have wants as well. When will we get to those? We cannot have 4 people from the same neighborhood “pretending” to represent us.

  • This is a cool idea, now you can pick a candidate by district and still vote at-large.
I like write-ins Kristjansson and Roth... who can represent the 'tract home' families. Wonder if they made their decision to run after seeing the SLATE...// Fuhrman will fight to keep things real and he's kind of the real-deal when it comes to rural interests. We only need one senior and one j-bar rep. Someone needs to stand up for romoland though. Dean is heritage lake, that's not quite the same.
Most Romoland rural folks are NOT going to be happy to be surrounded by commercial buildouts and changes to their zoning.

  • WOW yourself you guys...ONE candidate could be just as dangerous...we have Jerry Stamper who lives in Menifee Lakes, is President of Menifee Lakes HOA, and RUNS Menifee Lakes with his two characterless buddies (his VP and CFO) who band together and look for devious, crooked ways to 'go after' anyone who disagrees with them OR that they have had it in for over the years. SO..if he gets on the council, his misdealings will be left for the two cronies to carry on. So, we're 'dipped' if he gets it and 'dipped' (into you know what) if he doesn't. Just don't put him on the council if we want to start fresh and build a beautiful city representing ALL people; his cohorts will influence every vote he gives.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at May 30, 2008 2:32 PM

  • VOTE NO ON STAMPER AND KUENZI. Keep Menifee Safe!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at May 30, 2008 7:20 PM

  • I think it is unfortunate that we are all so suspicious of the people running for city council. I still like Edgerton and will vote for him. I have not heard a single bad thing about Wallace Edgerton. Just because a few candidates live near each other does not mean you shouldn't vote for one or two of them. Yes, it would probabaly not be a good idea to vote for all of them but if you don't vote for any of them then you don't have a good representation of the entire community.

    Edgerton still has my vote!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at May 31, 2008 11:19 AM

  • What is ludicrous is basing your vote strictly on where the candidates live and failing to realize what valuable insight, and experience, each are bringing to the table.

So what if they live in the same neighborhood? Each of your so called "South Menifee Alliance" are involved with schools, have friends, and support non-profit organizations ALL OVER the area.

I had never met Thomas, Twyman, Miller & Edgerton before this election, but after meeting them and reviewing what they have to offer, I believe that each of them would have my best interests in mind if elected.

And I live several miles away from Scott Road.

  • Here is ludicrous for you...

I Googled 'Wallace Wayne Edgerton' and his previous Campaign Disclosure Statements from his Long Beach City Council days popped up (CA Form 460). It appears that he last served in 1992 having disclosed that he lost re-election in 1992. On that same disclosure, it was claimed that there was $739 and some change in the bank. No big deal right? Well...

It appears from his campaign disclosure statements filed 12 YEARS LATER (2004) that his wife, presumably JUDITH LEE EDGERTON, is listed as his Treasurer on the disclosure period 1/1/04 to 6/30/04. Then, on a subsequent filing for the period 7/1/04 to 12/31/04, he disclosed on Schedule H of that same form that he PAID PROFESSIONAL SERVICES to Judith Lee Edgerton AS TREASURER in the amounts of $300.00 and $369.39. In the same filing, he disclosed that he made a loan to ALLY A. EDGERTON of Gold Canyon Arizona for a couple hundred dollars.

Question... Why, after 12 years, would a former city council member liquidate nearly a thousand dollars out of his campaign account paying his wife money "for professional accounting services as treasurer" and making a loan to another relative 12 YEARS AFTER HE LOST HIS LAST ELECTION IN 1992?

I guess Mr. Edgerton thought that enough time had passed by and no one would notice or pick up on it in the sleepy town of Menifee!

  • I agree about not discriminating against people just becuase of where they live, and how many live they live in the same area. If that were the case, I should vote on Jerry Stamper and Dorothy Wolons because they're from MY neighborhood.

I've heard Jerry Stamper referred to as the "town drunk", and I found out yesterday that Miss "There's no place like home", Dorothy Wolons, is a homewrecker and currently having an affair with a married man!!

Why didn't anyone pick up on that!!

Who in the "good ole boys club" (probably undercover running mates) and friends of Dorothy (and Toto too) knew about this and didn't bother telling us voters? Forget about worrying about whatever people thought you were using "smear campaign" tactics. We voters have the right to know this stuff!

So now tell me, once again, that I should vote for someone just because they live in my neighborhood.

    Jeez!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 01, 2008 8:35 AM

  • I do not see where it says to vote for someone in your neighborhood. The concern arises when a city is represented by people who all reside from the same area. It is natural to be biased to your home neigborhood and the immediate surrounding area. If the city is represented by those residing in the same area, that bias is 4 or 5 fold. The rest of the city will be second hat.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 01, 2008 9:46 AM

  • This was another reason I picked the candidates I did, my picks were spread out over the entire city as best as could be. The most important part is voting YES on Menifee for our future!!

By Blogger Full Value Entertainment, at June 01, 2008 11:00 AM

  • Ironic you would mention Dorothy Wolons is having an affair with a married man. I did know this; sadly, even her children know that she is sleeping with a man that is married to someone else. And while I realize that no one is perfect and we have all made mistakes, who while having an affair with a married man enters into a campaign for public office? What about the fact that she has never been married so how could she be a widow? (Is lying something we just accept in politics?) She is running on a platform of family values. Please define family values? I know she is CEO of the local chamber of commerce and probably does a lot for the community but shouldn't she be taking care of her own family?

  • Ok, let's get back to basics.
You shouldn't be voting for Wolons because she is a paid employee (like a lobbiest) for a special interest group known as the Chamber of Commerce. Her having an affair is minor compared to her job. That means all her board (bosses) will make her follow their agenda. Four Candidates are board members. JERRY STAMPER, DARCY CASSTILITOS, JOHN DENVER, TONY AMATULLI.
It's total incest. Put in the fold Darcy Kuenzi who is owned by the developers, well, there is only one answer. VOTE NO on cityhood.
If you want cityhood and a new city to succeed, then vote for anyone not associated with developers or the chamber of Commerce.

  • I would also not vote for anyone associated with the school district. Thank you to them for RAISING my taxes for schools that are not needed!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 02, 2008 7:42 AM

  • Geez, prior to reading the comments posted I was going to vote yes on cityhood.... Now, I'm leaning more towards a no vote.

I think I'll keep my yes vote for cityhood, if and when the candidates are worthy of my vote.

By Anonymous Leslie, at June 02, 2008 11:50 AM

  • To the anonymous poster 7:42 AM:

Nobody associated with the school district raised your taxes or anybody elses. The school board supported Measure B. The VOTERS that voted YES on Measure B are the people responsible for raising your taxes. Blame the people that bought into Measure B and passed the measure rather than the people that supported the measure.

  • Time is running out ! If you know some disconcerting FACTS about a candidate, and its not just heresay, speak up! Wolons' unscrupulous living has been repeated by several. How can ANYONE who sleeps with another family's husband be entrusted with the well being of a community? Give us a break, some family is suffering great heartbreak because of acts like these; not to mention her own children. Open those cans of worms...time is running out!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 02, 2008 3:31 PM

  • For disconcerting facts what about Tom Furhman having topless photo shoots at his place? Not the kind of values I want to be representing Menifee. You can look up the article on-line in the Press-Enterprise.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 02, 2008 9:56 PM

  • I am looking to vote for someone because of their experience, background, ideals, & values. I too am not discriminating if they are male, female, senior, young, or where they live. I too agree with Cynthia Aina and her comments. I also like Thomas, Twyman, Miller, Mazei and Edgerton. I like their grassroots approach. I got one of their pamphlets. With all the articles in the newspaper on the candidates with big money donations from developers it was kind of refreshing to see a group of people who did NOT receive any donations from developers and have All of us citizens best interests at heart. In any case, VOTE tomorrow!!!!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at June 02, 2008 10:05 PM

  • Yes, VOTE tomorrow everyone!! Vote good candidates in with experience and background. Yes, I agree watch out for those candidates with big backings from developers. You can look that up. Steve has a list of who received what. YES for Cityhood!!
