Social media threats against both Heritage High and Paloma Valley High were determined not to be credible and a suspect has been identified, authorities said.

Menifee Police Department officers responded Monday afternoon to Heritage High regarding the threat, which showed photos depicting violence at the school, according to a Menifee PD news release. The same photos were directed at Paloma Valley in other posts.

Within a couple of hours, officers identified a 15-year-old male as a suspect in the case. The male, who has not been identified because he is a juvenile, is a former student of both schools, police said.

The investigation is ongoing.
