Paloma Valley girls soccer team advances to CIF semifinals

Miale Jones scored two goals and Payton Whitcomb scored one Friday to lead the Paloma Valley High School girls soccer team to a 3-0 win over Laguna Beach and into the CIF Division 4 semifinals.

Coach Carlos Alfaro's team has not lost a game this season. The Wildcats are 22-0-3 going into Tuesday's semifinal home game against St. Margaret's Episcopal at 5 p.m. St. Margaret's is 20-5 overall.

Santa Rosa Academy, the only other local team remaining in the girls soccer playoffs, lost a 3-1 decision to Riverside Prep and was eliminated in a Division 6 game.
