After winning re-election in June, Kenneth M. Young will be sworn in as Riverside County's Superintendent of Schools.

On Jan. 5, Young will be sworn in to lead the fourth largest regional elementary and secondary system in the state of California.

Young has served as the Superintendent of Schools for Riverside County since June of 2007. Since then, he has continually focused the collective efforts of the Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) on the mission on ensuring the success of all students in the county, which approximately equal 430,000 at this current moment, through extraordinary service, support, and partnerships. This translates into the RCOE Pledge that every student in Riverside County will graduate from high school well prepared for college and the workforce.

Prior to his time as the county superintendent, Superintendent Young also served as the Riverside County Deputy Superintendent of schools, and as the Deputy Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, and Director for the Lake Elsinore Unified School District. He has also taught at the high school level and adult students in both public and private education.

Currently Superintendent Young is a member of the Cal State University San Bernardino Doctoral Advisory Committee, the Cal Baptist University School of Education Leadership Development Council, the Western Riverside Council of Governments Executive Board, and the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership Board of Directors.

The swearing-in will take place at 11 a.m. at the RCOE Conference Center. The oath of office will be administered by the Honorable Justice Douglas P. Miller from the Fourth District Court of Appeal, Division 2.

The RCOE Conference Center is located at:
3958 12th Street
Riverside, CA 92501
