Elderly Woman Dies After Being Struck in Intersection

The elderly victim has been identified as Madeleine O'Leary, 75 years old, of Lake Elsinore.

Lake Elsinore Police responded to the scene of an accident involving a vehicle striking a pedestrian.

On Dec. 4, at approximately 9 a.m., a 2015 Jeep Wrangler, making a left turn from Machado St. onto Lincoln St., struck an elderly female who was crossing the south cross walk of the intersection. The pedestrian sustained massive head trauma and was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries, according to the police report.

The victim's identity is being withheld until her next of kin could be reached.
