Marion Ashley was re-elected as Riverside County Supervisor in District 5, representing Menifee and surrounding areas, by a large margin over opponent Mark Orozco.

With 100 percent of the precincts reporting from Tuesday's election, Ashley (left) received 17,859 votes (66.92 percent) to Orozco's 8,829 (33.08 percent).

Ken Calvert easily won the primary voting for the 42nd Congressional District, receiving 29,255 votes (66.64 percent). It appears the Republican will face Democrat Tim Sheridan (7,081 votes, 16.13 percent) in the November election for that seat in Congress. Sheridan leads third-place Democrat Chris Marquez (4,9611 votes, 11.30 percent) with close to 40,000 mail-in and provisional ballots still to be counted.

Jeff Stone, who previously served the Menifee area as a County Supervisor, holds a slim lead in the race for the 28th State Senate District, with absentee and provisional ballots yet to be counted. The Republican received 16,785 votes (21.80 percent) to second-place Republican Glenn Miller (14,955 votes, 19.42 percent).

Melissa Melendez, running unopposed in the 67th Assembly District, received all 25,952 votes cast.

It appears Mike Hestrin has defeated incumbent Paul Zellerbach for District Attorney. Hestrin received 78,560 votes (54.82 percent) to Zellerbach's 64,753 votes (45.18 percent). Stan Sniff won the race for county sheriff, receiving 88,627 votes (62.96 percent) to Chad Bianco's 52,139 votes (37.04 percent).
