Six drivers were arrested on drug or alcohol charges during a DUI saturation patrol conducted Saturday night by the Menifee Police Department.

According to the police report, officers sought out alcohol- and drug-impaired drivers throughout Menifee between the hours of 7 p.m. and 3 a.m. Here are the results:

-- 15 vehicles were stopped
-- 12 drivers were given standardized field sobriety tests
-- 2 drivers were arrested for DUI – drug
-- 4 drivers were arrested for DUI – alcohol
-- 2 drivers were cited for driving with a suspended license
-- 6 vehicles were towed

The Menifee Police Department will continue to conduct DUI checkpoints and DUI saturation patrols in an effort to deter drunk/drugged driving. Funding for this program is from a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety .
