Dog Shot After Viciously Attacking Murrieta Man, Police Say

Deputies from Riverside Sheriff's Department responded to a vicious dog report at approximately 9 a.m. on Friday, June 28 in the county area of Murrieta, where they found a an elderly man being mauled by a Bullmastiff in a garage

The canine was shot when it charged the first deputy on the scene.

The victim of the attack suffered severe injuries and was transported to the hospital.

Deputies received information that 30 minutes before the report, the same dog attacked a heating and air condition technician who had gone to the home to repair the air conditioner.

The man sought medical treatment at a local hospital, then reported the incident to authorities.
