What's the most talked-about vacant building in Menifee? It has to be the old Albertson's supermarket, which has been vacant since the store closed in February 2011.

It seems everyone has an opinion about what business they would like to see go in there. Granted, it's a prime location that should be utilized. And it's there for the taking, for the right price. Just ask the people at Springstead and Associates, which manages the property sale for Albertson's.

Of course, most of us don't have the cash to put in a bid -- but we can dream, can't we? At Menifee 24/7, we've decided to have some fun with this -- and give away a prize at the same time.

So here's your opportunity to voice your opinion on the matter. In a perfect world, what would you like to see occupy this prime piece of real estate in Menifee? In 200 words or less, tell us what business or type of business you would like to see in the old Albertson's building -- and why. Explain how you think that business would be successful in Menifee and why you would go there.

Send this in an email to menifee247info@gmail.com, including your full name. Please put "Albertson's" in the subject line. Deadline for entries in our contest is Friday, April 12 at noon. Later that day, we will publish the winning entry, selected by our editors based on the content of your email. The winner will receive a $50 VISA gift card.

Entries must be submitted via email. Comments left on the website or our Facebook page will not be accepted as contest entries. Good luck!

  4. Menifee needs a movie theather, that would be great for a small (started) theather - or somewhere we could take the kids to! That's what we need - a kid friendly place - a Get Air, or a pump it up! or something!

  5. How about a place where kids can go to have fun. There is nothing for the kids out here to do. They could have a rollar rink, and a place for live bands and dancing for the kids.
