Morrow, Defense Are Keys to Heritage's 24-7 Victory

Jamal Morrow rushed for 219 yards and two touchdowns Friday night and the Heritage High School defense allowed just a single touchdown in a 24-7 Sunbelt League victory at Temescal Canyon.

Morrow also had a 60-yard interception return for the Patriots, who are 2-0 in league play and 6-1 overall.

After a scoreless first quarter, Heritage took the lead on a 15-yard touchdown run by Morrow and a PAT kick by Logan Netter. Temescal Canyon tied the score midway through the second quarter, but the Patriots fought back with a 15-yard interception return for a touchdown by Jacori Pace. Netter's kick made it 14-7 at halftime.

Morrow's interception return early in the third quarter helped Heritage pull away for good.

Next Friday, Heritage is at home against crosstown rival Paloma Valley in a battle of teams with 6-1 overall records.
