Fundraising Events Allow Community to Mourn Death of Menifee Teen

Several people may have noticed the cross and bundle of mementos lain out on the shoulder of McCall Blvd near Boulder Ridge Middle School. This is a site of mourning for friends and family of 19 year old Donovan Adams, who lost his life in a tragic car accident on June 6th.

In efforts to raise money for Donovan’s family in this troubling time, several upcoming events have been planned in order for the community to pay their respects.

As Donovan’s passion for football was well known even outside of his alma mater Heritage High School, a “Legacy of Donovan Adams” football game will be held on Friday, June 15 at 6 pm. This event will take place at Heritage Lakes Park, where donations will be greatly appreciated. A bake sale will be ongoing, and all money collected will be going directly to the Adams Family.

Secondly, a mountain hike will be held on Saturday, June 16th to place a memorial cross atop the “Heritage Hill” in Donovan’s honor. Everyone is welcome to the hike, and are asked to meet at Heritage High School no later than 8:30 am.

Lastly, a tailgate party will be held that evening at 4:30pm at Heritage High School. This event is a final celebration of Donovan’s life and will be followed by a memorial held at the high school stadium at 6:30 pm.

For those who cannot attend these events but are still interested in making a contribution to the Adams family may do so through this website

The other 3 teenagers involved in the accident are in various states of recovery. Prayers and well wishes from community members continue to be greatly appreciated.
