Just a note to my Menifee neighbors! My Maroon 99 Eddie Bauer Ford Expedition was stolen from my driveway this AM. Our home is near Wheatfield park. Please make sure you lock your doors, turn on your alarm and take all your valuables out of your car. Stay safe! The Perris Police department quickly sent a officer here within 20 minutes, I was impressed with their quick response. The officer told me that stolen cars in Menifee are more common than we would assume and that they get several reports per day.

Best of Luck!

  1. That is really odd. The police presence in this area is really heavy, especially with the college police department and the Sheriff's Department both in the area. Crime actually dropped alot here and that is really wierd. It must have happened at a wierd hour where there was no coverage. What happened to the Menifee Lakes Security...Where were they at?

  2. I too believe that the presence of the Police in our area is helping, however the Menifee Lakes security "Sterling Security" cannot be everywhere. With one patrol car working the entire area it leaves plenty of open time for crimes to occur. I believe we need to do all we can do to protect our property from the criminals. But even the best precautions don't always work.

  3. I live in the Menifee Greens community and my husbands company car was also stolen from our drive way 2 weeks ago. Its a shame this is happening to our wonderful city!

  4. That sucks man!! So what is the crime rate like in
Menifee? I am thinking about moving down here. Is it a good move..People are saying that Menifee is comming up? Is it true?

  5. Please don't let this discourage you. I moved here last Sept from the OC and I love it. This city is growing and is going through many changes, and the changes are good. I have met some really nice families and we are all here for the same reason and that is to have a great coummunity throughout the city. I am glad to have made the move.

  6. Thank you soooo much! I have just bought into the Lakes community and I am looking forward to a fresh start with my family. The only thing that is sad is the property tax in that community...Thank you!

  7. I am happy in the Menifee Lakes Community. It is pretty safe here. I have never been the victim of a crime yet but we feel safe here and the police presence is really great. Not only do we have the Sheriff and Menifee Lakes Security but the Mt San Jacinto College has a police Department too. They are primarly responsible for the college area and it's surronding's but lucky for us those surrondings are our community, schools and businesses. The Sheriff does a great job here too and they both work together. I know sometimes, other neighbors have called the college police for things and they have dropped by, cruised through at thier request and this helps both the community and assist's the Sheriff out since they are under staffed with such a large area to patrol and cover. You should be happy here. Just a word of advise though, don't leave your house completely unsecure and slow down on La Piedra Road near the college because they issue alot of speeding tickets there. Welcome and good luck!

  8. Cars get broken into and vandalized often in every neighborhood in Menifee. Houses too. Eggs, paint ball & trash. If you see someone hanging out in your streets that you know does not live there or it's past their curfew ask them what they are doing. Know where your kids are and who they are hanging out with too. Home surveilance is not that expensive anymore. Check out Costco.com

  10. I think there are good comments about the San Jacinto Police. In my opinion they are doing a better job than the sheriff. Our "savior" guzman has not set foot out here in well over a month. When I called, I was told he is "on vacation'. I guess! I have only seen a sheriff in the park once during that time.

Sterling security is a joke. I went to a hoa meeting and they did not even know when they were supposed to be working.

Employees are quitting left and right.... and last night the guy who was on the lake in a cart was lucky to have the cart. He could BARELY walk! They are a real waste of association money. And when you cap off with the fact that they can no longer be reached directly (must go through a san diego dispatcher); will not even call the sheriff; and really have no power other than that of a private citizen.... why are we paying $100,000 per year of assocition money for WHAT???

    Just my informed opinion.

  11. Who is your HOA? That sounds like an HOA problem. I hope it's not Merit, because here in Tierra Shores, we are really unhappy with Merit Property.

  12. A Suggestion: If your association is contracting security services at $100,000.00 a year for a guy in a respirator on a golf cart or some young kid with tatoos's poking out of his security uniform shirt and no powers of arrest. Why don't we look into becoming our own public safety community like that of Canyon lake. You mentioned teh Mt San Jacinto Police are doing a good job, and I've seen many good comments about them in these and many other forms. Why not have the association go foward and propose to them (Mt Sna Jacinto Police) for contracted police/security services for our community and cancel the lazy security company we have. I'm sure for the 100,000.00 dollars we are spending on the security company. I don't know what those cops at Mt San Jacinto get paid but, that 100,000.00 could probably pay the salary of two police officers from there (Who are sworn officers in California, with powers to arrest)and probably leave some money over for vehicles and/or equipment needed for a police car assigned to the Menifee Lakes. One at day and one at night. At least if we are going to spend that much money, I would much rather have an officer in a police car, with powers to actually do something and not have to wait for the local Sheriff or police to arrive, and would be more visible. Those officers from that department are already highly visible and deter crime in the area now. Imagine if we had one or two for our community as well. We would actually get more than two officers if you think about it, because they would have the ones assigned to the school area on duty as well. But I know I'm no safety planner but, i know a waste of money and whats good for our money when I see it.

  13. Hello All,
We're thinking of buying in Menifee Lakes. We've always liked it there. I was wondering what the property tax rate is. Are there any other additional fees beside the assoc dues? Does anyone know?

  16. Menifee is not better than Moreno Valley thee days. Murders, graffiti, thefts, etc are higher than most surrounding areas. It is like living in San Bernardino!

We left the city early last year before the housing bubble went up and glad we did. The traffic there is horrible, shopping is limited, there just is no reason to live there unless you like the 15 freeway.

  17. That was nearly a year ago. What do you think of the area Menifee Greens off Domengioni/Lindenberger?
