Motorcyclist dies in collision with SUV on Normandy Road

A motorcyclist died Saturday afternoon as a result of injuries in a collision with an SUV on Normandy Road, police said.

The male, reported to be in his 50s, was traveling on Normandy between Berea Road and La Ladera Road about 4 p.m., according to Captain Dave Gutierrez of the Menifee Police Department. He collided with an SUV that was making a U-turn. Life-saving measures were taken on scene and the motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, but he died there.

The driver of the SUV remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Gutierrez said drugs and alcohol are not considered a factor in the collision. The identity of the deceased has not been released.

Normandy Road remain closed for a short time after the accident.
