Santa Rosa Independent Study Program is now open

Santa Rosa Academy offers a diverse independent study program called Red Track. This program is an excellent educational alternative for families that need more flexibility. A credentialed teacher called an Educational Advisor fully supports students in independent study.

Red Track TK-8 Independent Study is a full-time, at-home independent study program. Students may attend enrichment workshops, optional field trips, social events, student/parent workshops, and tutoring. Parents are given lesson plans, materials, and resources to provide direct instruction at home. Weekly parent/teacher meetings with a student’s Educational Advisor provide families with ongoing support and student progress monitoring.

One of our most popular programs at Santa Rosa Academy is the K-8th grade student workshops. These enrichment workshops are offered one full day a week, based on grade levels. Each day offers a wide variety of hands-on workshops for our students. Some examples are horticulture, Spanish, art, book club, and many more.

Each session of workshops is offered in a 6-week session. Sign-ups are available online one week before the start date. Our workshops provide the Independent Study students with the opportunity to socialize with other students their age and come on campus to utilize Santa Rosa Academy’s excellent amenities.

Red Track High School Independent Study is a hybrid program where students have access to on-site classes three days a week and home-based coursework two days a week. Students attend a weekly meeting with their Educational Advisor and a monthly meeting with the Educational Advisor and their parent(s)/guardian(s). High school students in the independent study program have access to the Arts & Technology Academy, Biomedical Academy, Engineering Academy, Administration of Justice program, and Ornamental Horticulture program.

Enrollment in Red Track does not require a lottery, as spots are allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. There are still openings available for the 2022-23 school year.
