News release from Eastern Municipal Water District:

PERRIS -- Eastern Municipal Water District this month is hosting a virtual Open House and invites its customers to learn more about their water and wastewater district in a week full of water, wisdom and winning.

The 2021 Waterfest runs from Oct. 25-28, and features interactive programs, educational opportunities, and the chance to win daily prizes.

Each day hosts a new theme:

Oct. 25: History of EMWD and where your water supply comes from, including virtual tours of EMWD facilities.

Oct. 26: Join us to hear about EMWD’s drought status as well as water use efficiency programs and tips, including the new Landscapes for Living program.

Oct. 27: Learn about EMWD’s award-winning classroom education program and careers in the water and wastewater industry.

Oct. 28: EMWD will host its annual Water Leaders Academy, which will include a unique live program that asks customers to participate in a virtual decision-making process similar to those done by EMWD’s Board of Directors.

Participants may also view programs once they are completed. EMWD will be giving away prizes each day, including items to help customers become more efficient at their homes with their outdoor water use.

“We would like to invite all of our customers to participate in our first virtual Open House,” EMWD Board President Phil Paule said. “Our hope is that by participating in these fun, free, family-focused activities, our customers can learn what EMWD is doing on their behalf to make sure we continue to provide safe and reliable services.”
