The Paloma Valley High School girls basketball team scored a 52-35 victory at La Serna on Wednesday, advancing to the semifinals of the CIF Division 2A playoffs.

Paloma Valley led just 8-7 after the first quarter but took control with a 17-7 scoring advantage in the second quarter. The Wildcats will play at Westlake High Saturday at 7 p.m.

The Wildcats improved their season record to 11-3.

In other playoff action, the Paloma Valley girls wrestling team lost its dual meet match against Northview. The Wildcats won seven of eight matches but had several forfeits because of a shortage of athletes.
