Miale Jones and Nicole Dallin scored the only goals of the game Thursday afternoon to help lead the Paloma Valley High School girls soccer team to a 2-0 victory over Paramount in the first round of the CIF Division 4 playoffs.

The Wildcats scored a goal in each half in improving their record to 21-0-3. They advance to the second round Tuesday to play Palm Desert, a 4-1 winner over Barstow.

The Paloma Valley water polo team also won its playoff team Thursday, defeating Santa Paula 11-8 in a Div. 7 game. In a Div. 3AA girls basketball game, Heritage lost to Burroughs High of Ridgecrest, 60-47.
