Family of Cancer Patient Seeks Assistance

Menifee resident Tara Crawthon is asking for help for her 19-year-old cousin, Marissa Sheffield, who is hospitalized for her second battle with cancer.

After doctors removed a brain tumor, Sheffield moved from her home in Apple Valley to Menifee to live with relatives while taking radiation treatments in Irvine. After completing that, she moved back to Apple Valley to continue with chemotherapy, Unfortunately, after only three treatments, doctors discovered two additional tumors on her spine and she went back into the hospital.

According to Crawthon, Sheffield's mother will be losing her home as of Aug. 31 and is unsure of where she will live with her five children. A gofundme page has been created for the family here.
