Oct. 1, 2008: 'So Now We're a City'

Each day during November, we will recognize the 10th anniversary of Menifee 24/7 with a look back at past articles and photos. Today we look back at Oct. 1, 2008 -- the day Menifee officially became a city.

Steve Johnson's article shows just how much work had to be done from that first day to establish city government. Many projects had to be converted from Riverside County control to the new City of Menifee. In some ways, that work continues today.
