Each week of the school year, Menifee 24/7 honors top student-athletes at Heritage High School. The coach of each varsity sport is allowed to select one athlete based on the previous week's performances or on potential shown by the athlete. Here are this week's Heritage High School Athletes of the Week:

Axel Uveakovi had a big game defensively with several tackles for Heritage's football team in its victory over West Valley on Sept. 19. He also played tight end for the Patriots.

A first-year tennis player, Fenicia Perez made the girls varsity team and is undefeated this season as a doubles player.

Arnell Pye took fifth place overall in the freshmen race at the Colton Swarm meet for the boys cross country team. He took eighth place overall in the JV Sunbelt League meet.

Samantha Woodward of the girls cross country team was the second-place finisher at the Sunbelt League meet. Her finish helped the girls team take third place overall.

These athletes will be eligible for selection as Heritage High School's Athletes of the Month, which will be announced the first week of October.
