National Night Out Promotes Crime Prevention and Awareness

Last year's National Night Out event in Menifee drew a big crowd to La Ladera Park. This year's event will be held at Wheatfield Park.
National Night Out, an event known as America's night out against crime, is coming to Menifee and will be hosted at Wheatfield Park on Aug. 2 from 4-9 p.m.

The community is invited to the event to meet with local first responders to learn more about crime prevention and awareness. The event is a national effort to spread awareness about crime prevention; nationwide, more than 37.8 million people from communities across America will participate.

"National Night Out is celebrating its 31-year anniversary," said City Manager Rob Johnson. "Menifee is proud to be able to host an event supporting such a worthy cause."

This year's event will feature games and activities for children, followed by an evening barbeque and various demonstrations including law enforcement, K-9 demonstrations and Cal Fire rescue events.

Wheatfield Park is located at 30627 Menifee Road. For more information, contact Corporal Goodson at vgoodson@riversidesheriff.org or at 951-210-1014.
