Menifee Police Schedules Motorist Safety Check This Friday

The Menifee Police Department will conduct a specialized Motorist Safety Enforcement Operation on Friday, Feb, 28, according to a news release from the department.

This operation is part of the department's effort to help lower traffic deaths and injuries. Extra officers will be on duty patrolling areas in the city of Menifee where crashes frequently occur. Officers will be looking for violations made by drivers that can lead to crashes. They will be cracking down on those operating vehicles who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol, speeding, making illegal/unsafe turns, following too close, red light/stop sign violators, inattention or any other dangerous violation that has the propensity to lead to a crash.

California collision data reveals that primary causes of crashes include speeding, unsafe turning, inattention and impairment due to alcohol and other drugs, police said. The Menifee Police Department is reminding all motorists to always be alert and follow the rules of the road.
