Services were held today, August 1, 2012 for Russell F. Dix, former President of the Menifee Stake of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Dix, 57, was CEO of a disposal company while serving as the presiding authority over 13 congregations in the stake, a geographical region that includes the cities of Menifee, Perris, Canyon Lake, Wildomar and Lake Elsinore (approximately 6000 members), from 2004 to 2011.
The long-time Wildomar resident previously served as bishop of the Wildomar Ward and is survived by his wife of 35 years, Teresa, as well as five children, 11 grandchildren, a sister and three brothers.
The memorial service was held at the Menifee chapel and was presided over by Douglas F. Higham, a General Authority in the worldwide Church.
Cause of death was attributed to multiple myeloma.
Interment, following a graveside service, took place at the Wildomar Cemetery.
