The Department of Defense announced today the death of a Menifee-based soldier who was supporting Operation Enduring Freedom...
He died June 25, at Kunar province, Afghanistan of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked their units with small arms fire. Also killed was 1st. Lt. Dimitri A. Del Castillo, 24, of Tampa, Fla, of the same unit.

Staff Sgt. Nigel D. Kelly, 26, Menifee, Calif. He was assigned to 3rd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 3rd Heavy Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
