Today, the Press Enterprise published more details of what Countryside Marketplace is going to look like...

  1. This is good news. No more driving 15+ miles to go to Lowes or Home Depot. The aquatic center will also be a great addition to our community, I'm sure it will be very busy.

  2. This is awesome news to all the current homeowners of menifee. Hopefully it'll drive up our values and lower our high tax rates. I can't wait for this to be built. It's been a long time coming. In another year and a half Audie Murphy, The Marketplace and the additional businesses that the marketplace will attract should help clean up Menifee from looking like a dump.

  3. I dont like idea that new homes on Newport Rd that where is nearby Countryside Marketplace. It is necessary for Menifee residents's voice to vote "NO" to have no new homes. It is NOT necessary to built new homes on Newport Rd and Haun Rd (South) that where is nearby Countryside Marketplace which needs more store there. Please see article of www.pe.com nn Sunday, May 20, 2007.

  4. No one wants more new homes here, however, we don't have a choice.

The County is not willing to spend the funds necessary to widen roads and bridges, and improve the infrastructure. The only way infrastructure will be improved here is by developers.

The widening of the Scott Road bridge across the I-215 is being paid for by Brenson Communities, who is building the condos on the golf driving range.

Basically, the only way to get any improvements made around here, is to get developers to pay for it.

  5. Wow this is really exciting for the community. Between Temecula, Murrieta, and us (Menifee) I see no big difference...the potential is there. Hopefully, we can can get more retail and commercial business spearheaded by a centralized government.

  7. "why the hell did'nt you stay in Orange County?"

Uhh....for larger homes at affordable prices... Looks like someone's upset at the thought of tumbleweeds being a thing of Menifee's past one of these day..So Sad!!

  8. I think this is great news too. Until they actually started the project it sounded more like a pipe-dream.

Yes.. I too left Orange County for more affordable housing.. and not the covered wagons.

  9. I think this is great. I've been waiting for Menifee to have shops and restaurants like other cities. I moved here for affordable housing and do not like having to drive to Temecula for dinner or shopping. Hopefully Menifee will continue to grow and look more like a city than a country town.

  10. I had to put my two scents in! I moved out here two years ago for the country feeling. I bought a couple of acres and love living in a rural area. I'm finally in my element! I don't like seeing the housing tracks come in and I don't mind driving into Temecula or Murrieta to get what I need. That is what you expect when you move to the country.

  11. Great News. Not everyone is from Orange County. We are from Florida and love the fact that we can buy a beautiful home for an affordable price. Put a positive spin on things and think about all the nice landscaping that will be around your beautiful mountains.

  12. If we in the core are going to get to the new shopping center we need the county to widen Bradley and Murrieta Roads over the creek or we will be swimming to the center or bumper to bumper on the freeway. I love the idea of all the possible stores and love the idea that Seniors will be off the freeway so all the young people can have more room to go back and forth to work.

  13. The Seniors drive better then you
    do.

  14. The Marketplace is a great idea and I like the conveniences it will provide and the tax base it supports as well. Look forward to higher home values too.

We should make sure they have a space for community services that would allow residents to access for events as needed. That should be required.
