The CIF Southern Section champion Paloma Valley High School girls soccer team will continue its postseason run Tuesday at 4 p.m. when it plays host to Mater Dei Catholic of Chula Vista in the first round of the CIF state playoffs.

The Wildcats (25-0-3) were named the No. 1 seed in Division 4 for the Southern California Regionals. They are coming off a 1-0 victory over Ventura in the CIF Southern Section Division 4 title game. In the Regionals, they will face a Mater Dei Catholic team that is 16-5-2 overall.

Ventura is seeded second at the bottom of the eight-team bracket and will be at home against West Adams High of Los Angeles on Tuesday. If Paloma Valley wins on Tuesday, it will face the winner of a game between Westminster and Kingsburg on Thursday. The Regional final will take place on Saturday.
