City Announces Road Closures for Saturday's Half-Marathon

News release from the City of Menifee regarding Saturday's Half-Marathon and road closures:

MENIFEE -- The Menifee Half-Marathon and 5K run is scheduled for this Saturday, May 17. Race
check-in and day-of registration opens at 6 a.m. in the Mt. San Jacinto College parking lot, 28237 La Piedra Road, and the race begins at 7:30 a.m. Runners will start and finish the race in the same location, and parking is available in the MSJC parking lot.

The 13.1-mile half-marathon course takes runners out and back Antelope Road, then through some rural Menifee neighborhoods, circling back to the college. The 5K follows a similar, shorter course.

The following roads will be closed to through traffic beginning at 6:45 a.m. Saturday morning:

- Antelope Road between La Piedra and Scott roads
- Garbani Road between Antelope and Briggs roads
- Briggs Road between Garbani and Holland roads
- Holland Road between Southshore Drive and the dirt portion of the road
- Menifee Road between Garbani Road and Waterford Pacific Bluff

There will be no access from side streets or driveways to any portion of these closed roads. Roads are expected to be open by 10:30 a.m.

Residents in the neighborhood bordered by Antelope, Garbani and Menifee roads will use Menifee Road northbound to exist the neighborhood. Detour signs will be posted to assist residents in neighborhoods affected by the road closures. Signage will be posted 72 hours in advance to remind residents of the brief road closures and to plan accordingly.
