As the Lake Elsinore Storm approaches its 20th season of minor league baseball, the organization is making plans for stadium renovations throughout the ballpark.

The revitalization includes improvements of parking lots, outside landscaping, stadium restrooms, the Diamond Club Restaurant and luxury suites.

“It’s always a priority to enhance the fan experience and maintain one of the finest baseball venues in Minor League Baseball,” said stadium Vice President/General Manager, Bruce Kessman. “With 70 home games, special events, graduations and more, the stadium gets plenty of year-round use. These projects will help refresh The Diamond as we celebrate our 20th season.”

All three paved parking lots adjacent to the ballpark will be seal coated and re-striped. Additionally, landscape improvements are underway. Outside of the stadium, native landscaping with a drip irrigation system improves the look and sustainability, which is a key component in the team’s long-time support of Going Green.

Restrooms throughout the stadium, including the suites and the Diamond Club, will get a facelift with new fixtures and flooring. The Diamond Club Restaurant, open to the public on game days and used throughout the calendar year for special events, will also receive kitchen upgrades.

The press box level luxury suites will undergo renovations including flooring, painting and tile work as well as installing new glass sliding doors that will improve accessibility and viewing.

"The Diamond continues to be one of the most current and influential stadiums in baseball,” said Team President Dave Oster. “We strive to be influential in the green movement and continue to make changes to improve our operation to become more self sustainable. These upgrades will also keep Storm Stadium competitive with most of the top facilities in the game. We want everyone to be proud of this beautiful ballpark we have here in Lake Elsinore."

All renovations at The Diamond are scheduled to be completed by the first week of March.

The Storm home opener is set for Thursday, April 11 at 7:05 p.m. For more information, please visit the website at stormbaseball.com.

  1. I wish they would provide a small bus or similar transportation (like the casinos do) to take us to the stadium, we could buy all of our tickets, transportation and even food and drinks on line perhaps, OR, buy tickets on the bus prior to getting on board. I'd love to go to a lot of these games but I don't like going a lone, or parking late at night by myself. What do you think?
